trades + tech announces spring scholarship awards

The Trades + Tech Education Foundation recently awarded scholarships to six CATEC students who will each continue their pursuit of excellence in the skilled trades.

  • The Leslie Hughes Walton Memorial Scholarship, $2,000, was awarded to Summer Cobb (Western Albemarle High School) to study Radiology at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC)

  • The Justin Tilghman Culinary Arts Award, $1,000, was awarded to Cecil Rodriguez (Western Albemarle High School) to study the Culinary Arts at PVCC

  • Trades + Tech Education Foundation $1,000 Scholarship Awards were presented to:

    • Samuel Shipley-Johnson (Albemarle High School) to study Nuclear Welding at Idaho State University

    • Honorina Makyba (Charlottesville High School) to study Nursing at PVCC

    • Michaela Carter-Payne (Fluvanna County High School) to study Nursing at Norfolk State University

    • Rebecca Hernandez (Monticello High School) to study Interior Design at PVCC
